After signing with Ivey Poker, Toby Lewis now becomes the fourth British professional poker player to join the site, the others of which are James Dempsey, John Eames and Mathew Frankland. Commenting on what the deal means to him, Lewis explained: “I feel like this is a great opportunity for me to extend myself further into my poker career and being related to the IveyPoker name can only help me do that. I’ll be a loyal and hardworking member of Team Ivey.”
Poker legend Phil Ivey originally announced details of his new site back in October, 2012, and over the past few months has signed a total of 30 top pros. Although usually secretive about what has made him such an unusual talent in the game, the 37 year-old Ivey surprised many people with the news of his new training site. At the time, Ivey explained:
“People aren’t learning how to play. You see people just going on there and playing, but not really learning how to play the right way. What we’re doing here is teaching people how to become a winning poker player. I think a lot of people really don’t know how to play poker, and I think this is going to be an opportunity to play with the best players in the world.”
