Team PokerStars Recruits Finnish Pro Ville Wahlbeck

Team PokerStars Recruits Finnish Pro Ville Wahlbeck PokerStars have just announced that Finnish poker pro Ville Wahlbeck will now be joining the site as a member of Team PokerStars.
The 34-year-old Helsinki native has been playing poker professionally for six years, but rose to prominence last year, after an incredible performance at the 2009 WSOP. Wahlbeck not only managed to finish in the top 13 of 6 events entered, including four final tables, but also picked up his first WSOP bracelet in the $10,000 World Championship Mixed Event.
Wahlbeck clearly demonstrated his all round poker versatility by cashing in a range of poker variants, including 7 card stud, mixed games, Omaha Hi/Lo, No Limit Deuce to Seven Lowball, Razz and H.O.R.S.E. He explained the approach necessary for excelling in such a wide variety of games by saying:
“Each situation and each opponent is different and you have to modify your own game to adapt to each situation.”
Ville Wahlbeck’s achievement did not go unnoticed and he was later rewarded with two PokerStars Nordic Poker Awards for his incredible results, which included ‘Best Live Tournament Player’ and ‘Best Performance.’
Now, as part of Team PokerStars, Wahlbeck will make his first appearance for the site at the upcoming Baltic Festival in Tallinn, Estonia, which kicks-off on June 16th. Commenting on his new deal, Wahlbeck said:
“PokerStars is the leading name in this field. Not only because it is the world’s biggest poker site but also for other reasons: PokerStars has always taken good care of its players and has made an effort to ensure that all the players are treated equally and honestly.”
“Due to these things, PokerStars has been the avant-garde of the whole game and it’s both trusted and appreciated – a reputation which is well-deserved. I am really proud to be part of Team PokerStars Pro.”
