Skint Poker Pro Boyd Ready To Expose Ultimate Secrets Of The Pros
March 22, 2013 1:18 pmQuestion: What do you do when your professional poker career runs out of steam and you find yourself tragically broke? Answer: Write a tell-all book about poker, of course, including a poker strategy section.
That is exactly what one time poker pro Dutch Boyd is currently in the middle of doing, and as he explains: “If you play poker, you can use all this information to dominate your opponents and take you game to the next level.”
The only problem is that the 32 year old doesn’t seem to have benefited from his own advice and doesn’t even have enough money to complete the project. As a result he is currently running a Kickstarter campaign to raise enough funds to help publish his book entitled Poker Tilt
There’s no denying that the US pro has had his fair share of poker success in the past and throughout a tournament career stretching back 10 years, managed to amass $2,122,906 in earnings, including winning 2 WSOP bracelets. However, despite the poker skills and talents he may have, Dutch Boyd now finds himself on the unenviable list of pros which have managed to squander their career winnings, including the likes of T.J. Cloutier, Stu Ungar, Brad Booth and Eric Lindgren, to name but a few.
In fact, times have gotten so hard for Boyd that at one time he tried offering $20 poker coaching sessions, apparently without much success. Nevertheless, he says he is now willing to spill the beans on the secret to winning at poker, and as he explains while promoting his book:
“I’ve been in this game a long time and I’m ready to expose the kind of inside information that other pros take to their graves.”
Dutch Boyd also mentions that in his book there is a section on Bankroll Management, to help other players avoid making the same mistakes he made. He then elaborates: “Once the book is written, we will be taking on the sales process ourselves with the goal to sell enough copies to allow me to re-enter to the game I love.”
Lesson learnt there, then! How about he just deposits $50 at a poker room and spins it up to a large sum, instead, like we’ve heard the pros say they’ve done so often in the past. He might then find it easier to plug his new book.
