During that time up to 30,000 players are expected to create a massive €20 million prize pool with €10 million going to the ultimate champion.
Last month, Michael “The Grinder” Mizrachi was named as an official ISPT ambassador and now joining the 31-year-old Florida pro in promoting the tournament is the UK’s very own poker star Sam Trickett. Following the announcement of his ISPT deal, the 26 year-old pro commented:
“As a poker player, I have to be associated with such an enormous event. Being part of this tournament means being part of the history of poker.”
At such a young age, Sam Trickett has already enjoyed a meteoric rise to the top of his poker profession and was honoured at the 2011 British Poker Awards for being the UK’s ‘Best Cash Player.’ As well as being a regular at Macau’s big game where he apparently has made millions, Trickett is also a prolific tournament player and is currently ranked number 4 on poker’s ‘All Time Money List’ with $16,471,099 in winnings. Sam Trickett gained further media attention recently after entering the WSOP $1 million Big One for One Drop, where he finished the runner-up for an enormous $10,112,001 payday.
Sam Trickett will now look forward to promoting and taking part in the €600 buy-in tournament, which will also include one rebuy and a double add-on. In addition, for €6k a maximum of 1,000 players will be allowed to skip the initial online days altogether and buy-in directly to Day 3. At 30,000 competitors, the brain child of Groupe Bernard Tapei will also blast Europe’s previous live poker tournament record of 1,765 players clean out the water.
