Salomon Ponte's Luck Finally Runs Out

Salomon Ponte's Luck Finally Runs OutBefore January 2016, Salomon “Hashtag King” Ponte was relatively unknown on the poker tournament circuit with just $19,465 in winnings, but that month he took down the Seminole Lucky Hearts WPT DeepStacks $1,100 Main Event for $341,420. In his ensuing interviews with the media, the poker world was subsequently introduced to the brash personality who delighted in elevating himself above his fellow competitors as he sought to promote his bad boy image.
Recently, Ponte had another opportunity to indulge in some shameless self promotion, after being invited to take part in a televised Poker Night in America $25/$50 NL cash game at Choctaw Casino in Oklahoma. Rather than coming across as the “villain” people loved to hate, however, Ponte instead made a complete horse’s ass of himself, and was not only removed from the show after busting his bankroll, but has now had his sponsorship deal with Blue Shark Optics cancelled, with the poker eyewear company issuing the following twitter message:
“Mr. Salomon Ponte @salomonponte is no longer a member of our team and our company. We wish him well. #WeDoMakeMistakes”
Furthermore, Live at the Bike has also pulled the plug on his participating in any of their future televised shows, and as a public statement made by the firm stated recently:
“His recent activities have gone way too far over the line. Despite his antics, we gave him a chance. We asked him not to use racist/sexist/homophobic slurs, and despite agreeing he wouldn’t, he continued to use those extremely offensive words at an even higher rate.”
In the meantime, Salomon Ponte, who had his twitter account suspended, has now had the subsequent one he opened up given the same treatment as well, which is hardly surprising considering the foul-mouthed hateful comments he has been dishing out of late. Ashley Deeb, who was on the end of one of his verbal tirades on TV the other day, sent Ponte a tweet prior to his account’s suspension offering him the following advise:
“Pro tip; don’t call friends to borrow money with a hot mic. Wonder who’s gonna loan you that milly to play Doug Polk”
.. to which Ponte classlessly replied “Ur disgusting whore”. As Deeb pointedly responded, “Only for Shaun Deeb he’s a lucky man.” For Ponte, on the other hand, its seems like his luck has finally run out.
