Poker Tweets: Cash versus Tournament Players?
May 30, 2017 8:28 amHere are a selection of someof the best tweets coming from your favorite pros over the past week, starting with Daniel Cates, who decided to view his opinion on the whole tournament versus cash game player debate:
Daniel Cates
“It feels like anyone who plays purely tournaments for a living is 1. Probably a luckbox 2. Insane #RANTS”
Jake Smith
“Tourneys are so different than cash. Completely different game, IMO. Some understand 1, few understand both. Insane = understanding both.”
TopPokerValue.com
“As long as you understand variance and don’t play exclusively large field MTTs, it can be VERY profitable.”
Scott Johnson
“It feels like cash game players need A LOT of reassurance about how amazing they are by trashing tournaments and tournament players.”
Bitcoin Investment
Last Wednesday, social media star Dan Bilzerian also decided to announce that he was buying into the cryptocurrency boom, and as he subsequently stated on his Instagram account:
“just bought a sh*tload of bitcoin. It’s so crazy watching that sh*t f**king go up it’s like, betting a bunch of money on the Super Bowl.”
Bilzerian’s sudden move raised alarm bells with at least one of his followers, though, and as Redditor subsequnetly responded:
“If that’s not a sign of a bubble idk what is lol.”
Redditor was spot on, too, and by the weekend the digital currenct suffered a huge $800 or so correction, that would have cost Bilzerian a small fortune. Other bitcoin investors, too, felt the sting and as Dean Nolan? wrote, along with a rather amusing graphic:
“When they say “Buy the dip” #bitcoin #crypto #cryptocurrency”
Upcoming WSOP
And finally, with the 2017 WSOP just about to get underway, here are a few anticipatory comments coming from some of the pros looking forward to tournament poker’s biggest series:
Sam Panzica
“Most regs : I need to run more sims and solve more before the wsop
Me: I should probably look at a shoving chart for first time ever.”
Chris Moorman
“Pick me for the online category. Feeling a big summer ahead.”
Sorel Mizzi
“Looking forward to the 10k Team Event. It’s the one time I can take over for someone in the middle of a tournament without any1 getting mad.”
