Parker Talbot Now a Member of Team Upswing PokerSince Doug Polk started Upswing Poker in mid-2015, the site has grown to become the premier destination for those players looking to learn from the best in the business. Over the years, its list of talented coaches has also expanded, with the latest pro to be recruited to the site, Parker ‘TonkaaaaP’ Talbot, now joining a team which includes such players as Doug Polk, Ryan Fee, Pratyush Buddiga, Fernando Habegger, and Matt Colletta.
Talbot is one of the most accomplished high stakes tournament players online, and according to pocketfives has amassed $3,136,904 in online earnings under the screen name ‘tonkaaaa,’ $2,682,056 of which has been won on PokerStars. Counted amongst his many accomplishments online is a runner-up finish at the 2016 SCOOP-52-M ($215 NL Hold’em) for $119,041, and victory in 2014 at the $1,050 Super Tuesday for $100,890.
As well as being a skilled player, Parker Talbot, an 888poker pro, also enjoys a strong following on Twitch, where the streaming sensation’s videos have attracted more than 5,305,898 views. Commenting upon the training site’s latest recruit, a related article on Upswing poker stated:
“Parker ‘TonkaaaaP’ Talbot has been an online tournament player for seven years now and his accomplishments demonstrate that he is a serious force to be reckoned with at the table.”
Talbot went to college in his native Canada, but soon dropped out after finding he had a penchant for making money playing live cash games at the casino. The rest, as they say, is history, and in addition to his online success, Talbot has a further $248,236 in earnings from seven live tournament cashes, with his most noticeable score coming only last year after finishing the €25,500 EPT Barcelona in 7th place for €160,080 ($180,909).
Doug Polk announced Upswing Poker’s latest addition on Monday while interviewing Talbot on his YouTube channel, and a few days later the tournament specialist has already uploaded a new video to the site.
