Nikita Luther Signs Deal With India’s Biggest iPoker Site

The popularity of poker is on the rise in India, as are the number of professional players being offered sponsorship deals by online sites. This week, we then learned the news that Nikita Luther has now been signed to the country’s largest poker website, Adda52.com, as a member of its Pro Live team.
Together with other talented players which includes the likes of Kunal Patni, Amit Jain and Tarun Goya, the newly recruited Nikita Luther will compete online at Adda52.com, as well as represent the site at various land-based tournaments around the globe. Commenting on its latest signing, Anuj Gupta, CEO of Adda52.com, stated:
“Signing Nikita as Adda52 Pro Live is an important step in helping promote the game among the women in India where poker is only just coming to the fore. More importantly, Nikita’s passion for sportifying the game of poker, is in line with our vision as well.”
Nikita Luther first started playing poker while still in college, and over the past six years has become a regular on the Delhi circuit. High on her list of interests are tournaments, with international pros such as Vanessa Selbst and Daniel Negreanu having helped to inspire her dreams, as well as talent grown closer to home, such as Dhaval Mudgal and Shashank Jain.
Describing her attitude towards tournaments, Nikita said that her aggressive approach meant that she usually either busts early from an event, or goes on to make a deep run. She also likes to take advantage of the fact women are a minority and underestimated in the game, and said that she was competitive, ambitious, and dedicated, characteristic she said are associated with most Capricorns. Nevertheless, Nikita has also had to turn her attention to playing cash games over the last couple of years as India’s tournament poker scene has been a “bit dry”.
Known for her adventurous spirit, Nikita Luther explains that she values experiences over material possessions, and any money she earns she likes to spend on “exploring, travelling, good food, fulfilling experiences with family and charity.” Commenting on her sponsorship deal with Adda52 Pro Team, Nikita Luther said:
“It is an absolute honour to be a member of Team Adda52. It is poker’s biggest platform in the country and I can’t wait to start my term with them. I passionately aspire to remove the taboo and ignorance associated with poker.”
