Marcel Luske Joins Party Poker

Marcel Luske Joins Party PokerOver the past few years, Party Poker has been busy recruiting top pros from all around the world to the site, with additions including such players as England’s Sam Trickett, Wales’ Robert Romanello, Australia’s Jackie Glazier, and Brazil’s Joao Simao. Now the operator has extended its global reach further after signing the Netherlands highest money earner, Marcel Luske, to its team of sponsored pros. Commenting on its latest ambassador, Managing Director of partypoker Tom Waters stated:
“Adding someone with as much experience as Marcel to the partypoker team is very exciting. He has been in the poker world for a long time and is a respected name so it is a pleasure to see him join and support partypoker. I look forward to seeing Marcel turn back the years on the partypoker LIVE circuit!”
Marcel Luske, nicknamed “The Flying Dutchman”, recorded his first tournament cash back in 1999, and has since gone on to amass $4,453,553 in tournament earnings, placing him at number 1 on ‘Netherlands All Time Money List’, ahead of his nearest Dutch rivals Jorryt van Hoof ($4,383,165), Pieter De-Korver ($4,090,353), Rob Hollink ($3,512,599), and Ruben Visser ($2,422,229).
Amongst Luske’s many accolades over the years are two deep runs at back-to-back WSOP Main Events, including in 2003 finishing in 14th place out of 839 players for a $65,000 payday, and in 2004 narrowly missing out on a final table appearance after finishing in 10th place out of 2,576 entries for $373,000. The latter impressive run also represents the 64 year-old biggest score to date.
Between 2001 and 2014, Marcel Luske also amassed six-figure annual sums in all but three of the years, and while 2015 and 2016 have been relatively quiet as far as his high standards are concerned, being part of the Party Poker sponsored team is sure to provide the Dutchman with all the motivation he needs to achieve greater heights. Commenting on what it means to be representing the site as an official ambassador, Luske explains:
“I have been following the journey of partypoker for many years and have been playing in all the partypoker LIVE events recently. I look forward to being part of this new era with partypoker.”
