Joao Simao and Wife Now Sponsored by Partypoker

Online poker operators have long had their sights set on the huge Brazilian market of 200 million people, and over the years have signed some of the country’s top talent to their sponsored teams. This includes poker pros Bruno Kawauti and Nicolau Villa-Lobos joining 888poker; and André Akkari and Felipe ‘Mojave’ Ramos being signed to PokerStars.
The latest Brazilian to now be offered a lucrative deal with a gambling operator is Joao Simao, who alongside his wife Juiza, will represent partypoker online, as well as at various live events taking place across the country. Commenting on its new signings, Group Head of partypoker Tom Waters stated:
“It is a pleasure to have Joao and Luiza join partypoker as ambassadors. Joao and his wife are the perfect team and we are proud that they have chosen to represent partypoker in the Brazilian market.”
In the live arena, Simao has notched up $529,646 in winnings, with his biggest score coming in 2014 after finishing runner-up at the Brazilian Series Of Poker High Roller in Sao Paulo for $85,364. It is online where Simao has really excelled, though, and according to pocketfives the player has amassed $4,570,744 in winnings playing tournaments under the screen name Joaosimaobh, with at least $343,421 of that amount won on partypoker.
Joao Simao is also very active on Facebook where he has 15,000 likes, and offers a poker coaching skype service at his Massari Poker School. Simao’s new deal involves him using partypoker software for his school, and as Waters explains:
“We are thrilled at the opportunity to engage with the Massari poker school, which offers the Brazilian poker community the chance to learn how to play poker in a fun and safe environment with the real prospect of winning some incredible prizes on partypoker.”
Joao and Juiza Simao’s sponsorship deal follows partypoker’s signing of Jackie Glazier and Beata “Wild Hungarian” Jambrik earlier this month.
