Ivey Poker Loses Jackie Glazier To 888 Poker
July 24, 2013 3:01 pmJackie Glazier joined Ivey Poker at the beginning of this year, but now the Australian pro has left Phil Ivey’s training site after being offered a position as an 888 Poker Ambassador and member of Team888. Whereas rumour has it that that Ivey poker members will only receive financial compensation as a share of any future profits, Glazier’s new position at 888 is bound to be instantly lucrative. This may have had an influence on her decision to join 888poker, as well as the fact the company has strong ties with Australian poker.
Another important factor is that Jackie Glazier is a prolific live tournament player, and as she explains: “I really felt they were the right brand for me, especially with my live tournament schedule. Now that I’m with 888poker I’m definitely going to be playing World Series of Poker Europe. I’m so excited!”
Amazingly, the qualified mathematics teacher only started playing poker in 2008 before turning her attention to full-time tournament poker in December 2009. Jackie Glazier has since gone on to amass $1,188,451 from live tournaments with her biggest score coming in 2012 at the WSOP $3k NL event where she finished the runner-up for $458,996. More recently, Jackie earned the title of ‘Last Woman Standing’ at the 2013 WSOP Main Event after finishing 31st out of the 6,352 player field for a payout of $229,281.
After her latest sponsorship deal, the Aussie lass will now take her place alongside the other members of Team 888poker, which includes Tyler Bonkowski, Bojan Gledovich, Ernst Hermans, Jolmer Meelis, Patrick De Koster, and Steve Day.
UK WSOP 2011 November Niner Sam Holden is also part of the team and after the addition of Jackie Glazier was announced, Holden tweeted; “Welcome to team @888poker @JackieGlazier. See you in Paris!” to which Jackie replied; “Thanks heaps Sam. Gotta admit I’m pretty excited :)”
Congratulations to Jackie Glazier on her new sponsorship deal at 888 Poker and we would like to wish her the very best for the coming years.
