Gus Hansen Rides $1.2 Million Upswing In October

Having won around $723,000 last week, Gus Hansen’s impressive run has continued unabated after the ‘Great Dane’ put in a $582K winning session last night to take his recent upswing to $1.2 million.
Having lost $1.58 million right from the beginning of the month Hansen has now done a good job clawing his way back up to reduce his October’s losses to around $382,000.
Hansen played 2,146 hand of a variety of high stakes games to notch up his latest win, including $200/$400 PLO, $500/$1,000 7 Card Stud, and $1,000/$2,000 HORSE.
The player contributing the lion’s share of Hansen’s latest winning session was Luukie21, whose recent heater had seen his own bankroll increase by $200K over the past week.
However, after an extended session of heads-up $500/$1,000 Cap PLO tables against Hansen, Luukie21 found himself out of pocket by a huge $595,000. Despite later managing to recoup $100,000 of his losses against other opponents on Full Tilt, Luukie21 now sees his 2010 profits on the site now reduced to just $200,000.
Meanwhile, Hansen’s 2010 poker roller coaster ride continues during which he has found himself up $2.33 million at the beginning of the year and down $3.68 million by October.
Currently in the red by $2.5 million in 2010, Gus Hansen’s latest upswing could herald the start of another major heater for the Danish pro, who has already extradited himself from Full Tilt’s biggest loser spot, which now belongs to Brian Townsend aka  ‘sbruby’.
