Gus Hansen Launches Verbal Tirade Against SallyWoo
January 7, 2014 5:18 pmFull Tilt Poker Ambassador Gus Hansen hasn’t had the best experience playing on the site since first joining in 2007 and is currently down a soul crushing $15,113,301, more than half of which was lost in 2013 alone. In fact, the Danish pro enjoyed just one winning year back in 2011, which would be enough to tilt even the most resilient of players.
Unfortunately for Hansen, 2014 isn’t shaping out to be much better, either, and after initially forging ahead by around $200k has since taken several hits to go $240,556 in the hole after just one week of play.
Whether or not Hansen’s woeful record might have influenced his latest tirade against online high-stakes pro “SallyWoo” is uncertain, but during a session played between the two pros just prior to New Year, Hansen accused “SallyWoo” of using a forbidden computer program while playing Omaha Hi/Lo (FLO8) against him. In addition, the 39 year-old Dane accused “SallyWoo” of stiffing him for $4,000, after apparently breaking the terms of a private agreement they had in which a player whose opponent got disconnected during a hand wouldn’t take advantage of him by betting.
To both allegations, “SallyWoo” flatly denied the allegation, but nonetheless it would appear Gus Hansen has taken issue with the US pro and is no longer prepared to play him online. As an extract from their online conversation went:
Gus Hansen: the computer program right by your side – could be slippery slope
SallyWoo: ?
SallyWoo: huh
SallyWoo: are you accusing me of cheating?
Gus Hansen: since this was probably last time we played – I just wanna add it was funny you were so offended of me saying you have an O8 computer program – since obviously you do
SallyWoo: ohh lord gus, i dont cheat
SallyWoo: i did nothing wrong here, ill ask ft for our conversation about our deal and send it to u on twitter or something
Gus Hansen: lol – I guess you are trying to start a career as a politician, since you like to answer in east when the question came from west
Meanwhile, the poker community has been weighing in on its take on the latest controversy, and although many believe it’s a little odd that SallyWoo didn’t specifically deny using the forbidden poker software, many feel Hansen’s tirade was mostly frustration caused by his incessant loses on Full Tilt.
