F1 Driver Giancarlo Fisichella Signs With PartyPoker Italy

PartyPoker has just announced the addition of Giancarlo “Fisi” Fisichella to their team. The Italian racing car legend who has 229 F1 races under his belt, including three wins, now becomes the official ambassador for PartyPoker.it, an Italians only poker website.
Fisichella has long enjoyed playing and watching poker and recently competed in the “Racing” heat of the Sports Star Challenge IV, where, despite not qualifying, managed to display enough skill and aggression in his play to attract the attention of his future sponsors.
PartyPoker.it have marked the racing legends arrival with a series of €500 prize pool freerolls on the site throughout October, as well as an opportunity to win a signed shirt by Fisichella. A PartyPoker spokesperson said of the new signing:
“Giancarlo is a fantastic new ambassador for PartyPoker.it. The freerolls are exclusive to Italian residents, but the rest of the world and the international poker circuit is likely to feel the force of Fisi as he gets involved in the game. Many commentators have already said that they believe he is on track to be one of the best ‘celebrity’ players on the poker circuit.”
Unlike many other poker site signings, Giancarlo Fisichella is very much active in his particular sport and will be driving for Ferrari in the remaining 2009 Formula One season.
“Poker has become a very popular pastime in the paddock in recent months with many of the drivers,” Fisichella said. “I have joined two teams recently and am delighted to be in pole position as a new ambassador for PartyPoker.it.”
