Billy Kopp Joins UltimateBet

UltimateBet has just added Billy Kopp to their highly successful Team UB, which includes such players as Phil Hellmuth and Annie Duke. Kopp at 23 has been a successfully poker player for several years and has amassed over $2.6 million in both online and live play but it is perhaps his latest tournament result which clinched the deal for UltimateBet.
In this year’s World Series of Poker Main Event, Kopp knocked out two WSOP champions, Peter Eastgate and Joe Hachem and as one of the chip leaders looked to be heading all the way until he locked horns with Darvin Moon. The flop came all diamonds and with Moon holding Qd Jd and Kopp holding 5d 3d the stage was set for what turned out to be an all in and an exit from the competition for Kopp.
Although, the young University of Kentucky student fell just short of the final table in 12th position, his impressive loose-aggressive style of play saw him taking away $896,730 for his efforts. This style has held him in good stead throughout his career and in 2009 alone, his successes include finishing 2nd at the Bayou Poker Challenge for $127,832 and an 8th place finish at the WSOP $5,000 No-Limit Hold’em for $71,115.
His online carreer has been equally impressive lately and this year has had 8 top 10 finishes in some of the biggest online tournaments, including 1st spot finishes at Full Tilt Poker’s $200,000 Guarantee (Rebuy) for $69,075, and FTOPS XIII Event No. 21 for $38,891.
As a Team UB member “Patrolman35” will be playing online under his own name as “billy_kopp” as well as representing the poker site in various live tournaments around the world including UltimateBet’s Aruba Poker Classic.
He will be joining a professional group of players which include Adam Levy, Brandon Cantu, Hollywood Dave Stann, Matt Graham, Michael Binger, Scott Ian, Tiffany Michelle and most recently Liv Boeree .
Fans can keep track of Billy Kopp’s movements by using the UltimateBuddy feature on the site.
