Aussie Millions Champ Tyron Krost Joins PartyPoker
April 23, 2010 9:10 amFollowing his success at the 2010 Aussie Millions Main Event in which he won AUD$2 million ($1,676,418), Tyron Krost has now been signed for a lucrative deal at PartyPoker as one of the site’s sponsored pros.
The 23-year-old Aussie is now set to take his place amongst other members of Team PartyPoker, which include Mike Sexton, Kara Scott, Bodo Sbrzesny, Dragan Galic, Ian Frazer and Felipe ‘Mojave’ Ramos. After the deal was announced, Krost commented:
“It is a dream come true to accept sponsorship. It is fantastic to become a member of Team PartyPoker.com. Winning the Aussie Millions was a crazy experience for me and the security and opportunity it gives me makes me feel hugely confident about the future.”
Tyron Krost first started playing poker with his friends at home games when he was 18 year old. After buying a few poker books and reading up on the game, he made his first online deposit of $50 at Partypoker and began playing limit hold’em for the next year, moving up from 1/2 to 5/10.
Eventually, Krost decided to switch to tournaments and hit success almost straight away. On 24 May 2006, he entered a $33 no limit hold’em event and beat a field of 189 players to win $1,539. Just over a week later he won a $22 tournament of 705 players to win $3,102, and the following day he entered the Partypoker’s Sunday Million Guaranteed tournament and placed 15th for $6,579.
Despite cashing a couple of times in live tournaments, including winning a $500 Partypoker satellite for the WSOP, in which he finished 249th for $35383, his first major triumph came at the 2010 Aussie Millions tournament in which he placed first and won the life changing sum of AUD$2 million ($1,676,418).
As a member of Team PartyPoker, Krost will now be expected to enter many big events sporting the PartyPoker colors, starting with the World Poker Tour Grand Prix de Paris next month.
As fellow Team PartyPoker member Tony G explains: “Tyron crushed the field at the Aussie Millions and it is a pleasure to get him on the team. When I first saw him I thought he may need a trike but now I expect him to be a Tour de Force in the poker world! There is so much more to come from him.”
