Alex “Kanu7” Millar Joins Team PokerStars
October 31, 2013 5:33 pmPokerStars has just announced the addition of a number of newcomers to Team Online, and counted amongst their rank is none other than UK high stakes cash game specialist Alex “Kanu7” Millar. Commenting on his latest deal, Millar, said:
“I feel part of an organization which really looks after its players and represents poker in the best way it can. I couldn’t imagine myself representing any other site.”
The 28-year old online prodigy is considered one of the best six-max and heads-up NL players in the world today, as one glance at his graph on HighStakesDB will readily confirm. Since February, 2011, the online player known as “Kanu7” has managed to amass $2,724,759 in winnings, $1,643,747 of which was earned last year.
Incredibly, just a few years ago Alex ‘Kanu7′ Millar was unknown in the poker world but after watching numerous poker training videos was able to quickly move up the levels from playing $0.50/$1 NL to the stakes he currently plays at of $50/$100 up to $400/$800.
One of the regulars he often mixes it up with on PokerStars is Viktor ‘Isildur1′ Blom, a player many of his peers consider to be one of the most aggressive players in the world. Alex “Kanu7” Millar, however, holds no fear of the Swedish pro and even believes he has a sizeable edge over Blom, given the right set of conditions. As Millar explains:
“Well actually he won’t give me any action at hold’em! He will only agree to play if I make it 3x BB when I raise preflop..When both players raise 3x preflop, that’s the game he’s beating most people in, and if you change it up by min-raising or limping he actually plays a hell of a lot worse. I think I’ve got quite a sizable edge against him if I’m allowed to min-raise, but he just won’t play if I do it.”
Congratulations to Millar on his new appointment to Team PokerStars Online and continued success for the future. In addition to Alex Millar, Supernova Elite and cash game expert Marc “FrenchDawg” Ladouceur also joins the team, which already includes such poker talent as Mickey “mement_mori” Petersen, Isaac “Ike Haxton” Haxton, Randy “nanonoko” Lew, and Shane “shaniac” Schleger.
