888 To Provide Nevada/Delaware Poker Network

888 To Provide Nevada/Delaware Poker NetworkIn February of this year, Nevada and Delaware agreed to combine their online player pools to form a more competitive landscape for their small poker playing populations. The two states said they hoped to have their landmark interstate compact in place some time this year, and ahead of implementation 888 has now been named as the online gaming operator which will be powering the new poker network.
Currently, 888 has a monopoly in the Delaware market and powers its three licensed iGaming sites, whilst in Nevada 888 is the provider
for WSOP.com, as well as a soon to be added Treasure Island skin, and its very own 888 skin. When the Nevada and Delaware’s poker playing compact becomes operational, all six sites will subsequently be hosted on a new online poker network known as the All American Poker Network (AAPN). Commenting on its ambitious plan, an 888 statement, said:
“We are aiming to deploy a shared poker network across the two states which will offer poker players in each state an enhanced customer experience.”
Interestingly, 888 already powers an All American Poker Network in New Jersey, but to date 888Poker NJ is the only iPoker room on the network. It is also is currently showing just 70 cash game players over a seven-day period according to PokerScout, behind WSOP with 120 cash players , and Borgata (bwin.party) with 140 players. However, AAPN NJ is not a part of the Nevada/Delaware compact, and so New Jersey players will not be playing against their counterparts in Nevada and Delaware.
As well as its strong presence in the US iGaming market, 888poker is the world’s second biggest poker network worldwide with an average of 2,100 cash game players over a seven-day period, although it still lags way behind PokerStars with 20,000 cash players over the same time period. Commenting on the strides 888 has made in the poker industry, a company statement read:
“We have maintained our position at number two in the global PokerScout rankings, which is testament to the strength of the 888poker brand, our ‘smart’ marketing strategy and CRM.”
