Finnish Player Wins Record $640,696 For Cracked Quad Kings
July 29, 2011 8:18 amOne ‘lucky’ player has just collected the lion’s share of a record €1,265,583 ($1,831,426) online Bad Beat Jackpot after losing with quads over quads on PokerHeaven.com.
Finnish player “OmgoMgomGo” was playing on one of the site’s €0.50/€1 nine handed tables when he was dealt pocket Kings. However, it just so happened an opponent by the screen name “7Adelaida7” had been dealt poker’s premium hand pocket aces at the same time.
The situation was bound to create some major action at the table, but incredibly both players actually ended up making quads, an unusual situation with odds of 38,915 to 1 against. As “OmgoMgomGo” explains:
“WOOOOOOOOW!! I had KK and all the money went in pre-flop. Once I hit my quads and saw the second Ace come on the river I was hoping that my opponent had hit their 1 outer! When I realised it had happened I was so happy, I still cannot believe it! The atmosphere at the table when it hit was great and I would like to thank all of the players and the staff for their best wishes. As for what I am going to do with the cash, I am planning to buy a house, a car and will certainly be partying hard.”
So how much did he win? As a result of the record €1,265,583 ($1,831,426) Bad Beat Jackpot, “OmgoMgomGo” was awarded a massive €442,954 ($640,696) for the losing hand, “7Adelaida7” won €221,477 ($320,391) for the winning one, while the remaining players around the table collected an impressive bonus of €31,639 ($45,766) a piece.
The record €1,265,583 ($1,831,426) Bad Beat Jackpot took place at PokerHeaven.com, on the International Poker Network (IPN), which has over 4 million registered players and is operated by GTECH G2.
Commenting later on the record payout, VP of GTECH G2 William Scott said: “These are exciting times at IPN. We’ve raised the bar with a massive new world record and with our €2 million investment into the IPN, we are committed to delivering even bigger promotions and tournaments to our players.”
