Cake Poker $52,000 Gold Card Jackpot Won By ‘Jotun665’
January 6, 2010 9:34 amA Californian man has been awarded Cake Poker’s $52k Gold Card Jackpot 2009, and said he now intends to take a vacation to Europe this summer, and remodel half of his house with his winnings.
As the site states, “Gold Cards are awarded to real money ring game players of all stakes and levels. Every Gold Card earned at the tables is worth miles on the leader board,” and the player who collects more complete decks of Gold Cards on the site than any other player, wins Cake’s jackpot of $52,000.
The San Diego online player goes by the name of ‘Jotun665’ and says he has been playing at Cake Poker since 2006, and has been using it as his main site since 2007. It would appear his loyalty to the site has been richly rewarded with this, his biggest score to date, either on or off the felts.
As he explains, “My favorite games are shorthanded no limit hold em, from 1/2 to 5/10 blinds. My biggest win to date was about $1,200 if I remember correctly, in one of Cake Poker’s guaranteed tournaments earlier this year. If we include cash games, I once won a $21,000 pot at the Cake Poker $25/50.”
Well done to Jotun665 on his incredible online win, and as the 2010 Gold Cards series gets underway, Cake poker have added a little extra spice to the scheme by awarding Gold Cards at double the pace up until January 9th.
The Cake Poker Network is one of the 10 largest in the industry and launched its first network skin, Cake Poker, in June 2006. The Cake Poker Network currently has 35 network skins with its latest network partner Doyles Room, featuring Doyle Brunson, Todd Brunson and Mike Caro, joining in January 2009. Cake Poker is also the only big site to allow their online players to change their screen names every 7 days, so as to mitigate the advantages of ID tracking software.
