Daniel Negreanu joins Expert Education Site MasterClassJune 13, 2018 11:21 am
MasterClass is a premier online education website whose goal is to provide students with “access to genius,” which it manages to do by ensuring that all its instructors are world-renowned professionals in their own individual fields. Amongst the high-profile instructors already offering their services at MasterClass is Martin Scorsese (filmmaking), and Gordon Ramsay (cooking), with the latest expert to join the roster being Daniel Negreanu from the world of poker.
Anyone looking to learn the card game from the best in the business can now do so by enrolling in Negreanu’s online classes for just $90 for a lifetime access, or $180 for those looking to benefit from unlimited access via an annual All-Access Pass subscription.
Daniel Negreanu is one of the world’s most high-profile poker players, and since cashing in at his first live tournament in 1997 the pro has amassed just shy of $40 million in winnings, placing him in pole position on poker’s ‘All Time Money List’. The 43 year-old Hall of Famer has also captured 2 WPT titles, and 6 WSOP bracelets throughout his illustrious career, and was named the WSOP Player of the Year in both 2004 and 2013.
Beyond his poker skills, Negreanu is known as one of the most sociable and entertaining pros in the business, talents which he has put to good use in his role as chief sponsored pro and spokesperson at PokerStars after joining the site back in June 2007.
Quality, Mainstream Content
Negreanu said that he was instantly intrigued by MasterClass’ offer, with the Canadian pro subsequently calling his positive decision as a “no-brainer”. Highlighting the educational platform’s unique aspects, Negreanu described MasterClass as a “high-end” program that offered quality classes. Despite its mainstream appeal, however, Negreanu warned that his lessons were not intended for complete novices, stating:
“If you don’t know how to play poker it’ll probably be far too advanced for you. If you are intermediate, struggling or learning; it’s certainly something that can help elevate your game. I would say for a rank beginner they need to get an understanding of the game before they can take it on.”
33+ Lesson Course
The full rollout of Negreanu’s poker course is not expected to be released for another month or so, but in the meantime some interesting teasers have been released providing an insight into what his knowledge his students can expect to learn. Apparently, the course will consist of more than 33 lessons covering both cash and tournament play, with those participating receiving a downloadable class workbook, and afforded the opportunity to have their questions answered by Negreanu. As he explains:
“I feel like what we covered is really good. I’m uniquely qualified to explain some of these higher-end concepts because I didn’t know much about them for most of my poker life, so for me to learn all this stuff and share it with people in a way they will understand, I think it will be eye-opening for a lot of people.”
