Poker In The Park 2009 Schedule Announced

“Europe’s largest free poker festival” is scheduled to take place on August 13th and 14th in Leicester Square in London. This will be its third year and the two day event will see live lectures from professionals, host free tournaments as well as giving members of the public a chance to rub shoulders with some of the best known poker professionals out there.
Michael Caselli, the event organiser said: “The line-up we have at Poker in the Park is the kind of line-up you’d expect to see at one of the world’s major tournaments. If you wanted to pay these players individually to teach you how to play poker you’d spend over £100,000! At Poker in the Park you can learn from the best of the best for FREE”
The event will begin on Thursday at 17:15 with Jamie Gold and Peter Eastgate, both WSOP Main Event Champions, giving lectures on medium sized tournaments.
At 18:45, Annette Obrestad, the winner of the first ever WSOP Europe tournament, will give a lecture, followed by English poker professionals Nik Persuad and Black Belt Poker founder Neil Channing.
Friday at 12:30 will see Jamie Gold kicking off events, followed by Eastender actor turned poker pro  Michael Greco and and ex- Ireland football star Tony Cascarino discussing their love of poker.
Each of the talks will be for approximately half an hour after which members of the public will be able to put questions to the speakers. Poker in the Park is an 18 years and over event, free to the public and, in the words of its creator Michael Caselli, “about bringing poker enthusiasts from all over the U.K. together to meet their poker heroes, improve their play, and play poker absolutely free with other lovers of the game from all around the nation.”
