The $130k Bad Beats Jackpot Hit At Americas Cardroom

The $130k Bad Beats Jackpot Hit At Americas Cardroom Sunday night proved a mixed blessing for online poker player “NikoBellic11” after losing with quads to an opponent while playing at Americas Cardroom. Fortunately, though, the positives far exceeded the negatives as he was playing at a Bad Beat Jackpot table at the time and consequently ended up scooping the lion’s share of the $130,000 bonus prize.
As Americas Cardroom spokesperson Michael Harris was quick to explain: “With the WSOP currently in progress, we know players are experiencing all sorts of brutal bad beats in Vegas without getting anything to ease the pain. But we’re way different. When online poker players get dealt a crushing blow at a Bad Beat Jackpot table, they’ll pop the jackpot that climbs by thousands of dollars every day.”
The piece of good fortune took place on Sunday, June 24th at 9:48pm ET when NikoBellic11, carnyc and four other players were sat at the 25c/50c cash poker table. The hand then involved  NikoBellic11 losing to New York City player carnyc, who had a higher four of a kind hand than his surprised opponent.
NikoBellic11’s surprise soon turned to joy, however, after he was awarded 30% of the Bad Beat Jackpot which amounted to a rather healthy $65,072. For his part, carnyc received 20% or $43,377 for having the best hand, while the remaining four players picked-up 10% or $5,423 a piece for just being at the right place at the right time. These included sj277737, Alig8trblood, TMONEY1990, and allin Tom.
Americas Cardroom is a US friendly poker site that launched in 2001 and has been located on the Winning Poker Network since 2011. This year it is also sponsoring the Punta Cana Poker Classic $1,500 Main Event in the Dominican Republic, won last year by Demo Kiriopoulosis. At the event Kiriopoulosis outlasted a 415 strong field to take down the $136k top prize, beating a star studded field along the way including Dave ‘Devilfish’ Ulliott, Humberto Brenes, Amanda Leatherman, Evelyn Ng and Tatjana Pasalic.
