Woman Wins Record Detroit Slots Jackpot of $2M
December 18, 2015 2:10 pmA Detroit woman has just scooped the biggest ever slots payout in the city’s history, after releasing a massive $2,005,393 jackpot at the Greektown Casino-Hotel. The lucky lady was playing a 25 cent “Wheel of Fortune” progressive slot machine when she ended up hitting the life-changing sum, and commenting later on the fateful moment explained:
“I saw the winning combination come across the line and the machine went dark. I thought, I just killed the machine. The machine then lit back up and revealed I had won over $2 million and I thought, wow, I really did kill it!”
The woman, who has chosen to remain anonymous, says she is a regular at the Greektown Casino Hotel, describing the venue as her favorite “fun-spot”, and stating that “I’ve always loved Greektown Casino. They treat me like family.”
The venue certainly offers plenty for visitors to enjoy, too, as in addition to 3,000 slot machines, and 82 table games, the casino also boasts 400 guest rooms, three restaurants, as well as a number of bars, and fast food outlets.
The lucky woman is described by her daughters as a person who is generous to a fault, and has continually taken care of others throughout her whole life. Commenting on what she now intends to do with her new found fortune, the anonymous winner said:
“I’d like to treat myself to a new dress. Then we are going to go to Disney World and take a nice trip to Cabo.”
The $2,005,393 she won beats the previous Detroit slots record set in 2004 of $1.77 million. Incredibly, that jackpot was also won at Greektown Casino on a similar Wheel of Fortune slot machine.
