Delaware Gun Man Threatens Casino After Wife Loses $30kA Wilmington man whose wife lost $30,000 gambling at the Delaware Park Casino has been arrested by state troopers after he threatened to shoot up the place with his AK-47.
The incident took place at 11pm on Sunday, when a casino security officer received the call from Brandon K. Buchanan, 28, stating: “My wife is at your casino, get her out of there or I am going to come up there with an AK-47 and [expletive] you and that place up.”
The casino security subsequently informed police of the incident and around midnight, a trooper found Buchanan standing outside his black 2009 Audi 4-door sedan in the parking lot of the Delaware Park Casino. When asked by the trooper what he was doing, Buchanan said words to the effect of: “I brought the gun down here to scare my wife. She spent $30,000 in this place and I can’t take it anymore. I figured this way, she would realize that I’m serious about this.”
A search of Buchanan and his vehicle then revealed a full magazine clip in his back pocket, as well as an assault rifle and  2.5 grams of marijuana on his rear seat. A subsequent search of his house further revealed another assault rifle with ammunition, as well as a 9mm Ruger semi-automatic handgun. Nevertheless, according to Sgt. Shavackall, all of Buchanan’s firearms were registered.
Following the incident, Buchanan has since been arrested and charged with ‘Reckless Endangering and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony,’ in addition to drug charges. The 28 year old is currently being held on a $62,350 cash bail at Howard R. Young Correctional Facility.
