Caesars’s Poker Bad Beat Jackpot Hit For $766,951
December 2, 2013 2:45 pmOn the eve of Thanksgiving at around 6 p.m., almost 200 poker players got to share in a massive Caesar’s “Mega Beat Progressive Poker Jackpot” worth a record-breaking $766,951.
The incredible hand was played on Wednesday, November 27th, when 198 players were competing in a number of casinos poker rooms linked to the Caesars Entertainment progressive jackpot, including Harrah’s Las Vegas, Quad Resort & Casino, Flamingo Las Vegas, Bally’s Las Vegas, Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino, Caesars Palace, and Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino.
However, it was at the Flamingo Las Vegas poker room where the jackpot was eventually released after “Gary” from California was dealt Ad-10d to “Linda” from Indiana’s pocket jacks. The board subsequently rolled out a Kd-Jd-4h-Qd-Js to make Gary a royal flush, to his opponent’s quad jacks and after the betting had finished and the cards had been revealed, the room erupted into a cacophony of cheering and applause.
Collecting the lion’s share of the huge $766,951 Bad Beat Jackpot was Linda with her losing quad jacks, who subsequently was awarded a $156,189 prize, while the winner Gary collected $79,406. Meanwhile, all other players actively involved in the various Caesars Entertainment poker rooms received a $2,711 payout for simply being at the right place at the right time.
The “Mega Beat Progressive Poker Jackpot” was introduced by Caesars Entertainment to the Las Vegas poker market at the beginning of this year, and has the potential to reach up to $1 million, making it the biggest jackpot in the poker industry. As the promotion read at the time: “This multi-casino promotion offers poker players of all skill levels the opportunity to play for a chance at life-changing money.”
