$2K Casino Winner Fights Off Armed Robbers

A 26-year-old man who won $2,000 at the SugarHouse Casino in Philadelphia had a lucky escape after managing to fight off two armed robbers intent on relieving him of his casino winnings.
According to a Cinnaminson police report, the incident took place on Saturday night near to the victim’s home in Perry Road, after he was dropped off by taxi following his winning night.
On his short walk home the victim fell onto the front lawn of a neighbor’s house after being struck on the head, which at the time he though was a falling tree branch.
However, he then saw two armed males, one of which was shouting at him to “give up” while the other was yelling at the other man “Pop him, pop him.”
The first man then tried to hit the victim with the butt of his gun when he then heroically managed to wrestle him to the ground. The other would be robber then tripped over his own baggy pants while the victim was yelling out for someone to “call for police.”
After the men fled, the victim was able to contact police on his phone and was shortly later taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center in Willingboro where he was treated for a serious cut to the skull, as well as lacerations on his face and ear.
In the meantime, the  Philadelphia police have some very promising leads after the SugarHouse Casino captured the potential suspects on their security cameras. It is also believed the men were driving a gold colored 4-door Chevy Impalaa at the time.
The Philadelphia police have urged anyone who might be able to identity the suspects to contact them.
