$1.8m Slots Jackpot Hit At Ontario Casino
September 18, 2013 2:18 pmOne lucky Canadian woman from Ontario is celebrating her unbelievable good fortune after hitting a casino slots jackpot worth a massive $1,862,447.
On Tuesday afternoon, Caledon resident Kathryn Stokes was playing the ‘Michael Jackson The King of Pop’ progressive slot machine for around an hour at the Fallsview Casino in Niagara Falls, when she eventually released the huge jackpot. Commenting later on her life-changing win, the 55 year-old, said:
“It’s unbelievable. This is only my second visit to Fallsview Casino. I chose this machine because I love Michael Jackson’s music and I was lucky to win a few hundred dollars the first time I played. This time I put in only $60.”
Incredibly, Stokes says she is not a gambler, and on that fateful day was just part of a large group of friends out on a special trip to the Fallsview Casino. As of yet, there are no indications whether she will return to her work in the administration department at the Peel Regional Police in Brampton, and when asked what she intends to do with her new-found wealth, replied:
“I have no idea at the moment. I’m looking at a brand-new car.”
Meanwhile, the Niagara Casino seemed equally excited by the payout, with president Art Frank, commenting: “The thrill of playing a slot machine is that you just never know how the next spin will settle out. Today was clearly Ms. Stokes’ lucky day.”
Although a massive jackpot, the biggest ever payout at the Fallsview Casino actually occurred in 2002, when 68 year-old retired nurse Doris Wendt won $5,613,203 playing the 45 Megabucks progressive slot.
