Players Only Poker Software

The Players Only Poker software is backed by the Cake Network which is known for providing a robust and easy to use platform for players.  The poker site was founded in 2006 and opted to use the Cake software to power it’s poker room for a number of reasons including the ability to accept US players as well as a ton of features included in the package which would allow them to provide a fully functional and comprehensive site for their players.  The software from Players Only includes a number of traditional features you would expect such as table and game statistics, personal stats on flop percentages and win percentage as along with others highlighted below. Players Only Poker Download

Unfortunately there is no Mac compatible version to the Players Only Poker software. The software program is only available for Windows players (unless your using a dual boot for your Mac OS). We've heard a Mac compatible client will be released on the Cake Network in the coming months but have no details just yet as to when. To download Players Only Poker players should make sure their system meets all minimum requirements. You can use this link here to download Players Only. Players Only Poker Lobby

The  Players Only software is very straight forward  in features and layout.  The top navigation panel allows you to immediately distinguish between cash game and tournaments (a useful feature for finding games quickly) and just to the right of that you will find all the essentials including the cashier, rewards and help buttons.  Just below that are the various filters for game selection which allow you to choose between Hold’em, Omaha. The lobby does display Stud games however these games have yet to be scheduled.  

Listings of the games include vital information on each table which can be used by the player for table selection allowing them to analyze and find the best games to play.  Each table listing presents data such as the stakes, overall flop percentage, average pot and hands per hour for each individual table.  As savvy players know, this is crucial information which is essential in finding the best tables with the weaker opponents on a site.  When you highlight a table listing, the box on the right side of the software will show you further detail on that particular table including seated players and the balances of everyone at the table.  The last major aspect of the user interface is a small box in the bottom right corner of the software which allows you to keep up with site news including new bonuses, tournaments scheduled to start and other special promotions Players Only runs for their players.

The graphics at Players Only are a mix of a traditional poker table coupled with life like characters who represent you at the table during play.  Contrary to sites like Full Tilt, the avatars at PlayersOnly cannot change during game play however when you sign-up at the site you will be able to choose which avatar will be shown when you sit down at the tables.  The actual layout of the tables and lobby are quite appealing and you get a real sense of professionalism and attention to detail with the overall look of the site.  The only real downside to the physical presentation of the site is the fact that the avatar’s cannot be controlled at the table with emotions which is a welcome feature that many other poker rooms have embraced.  That being said, Players Only is constantly upgrading their software and we hope this will be added to a future update for the site.

Software and Table Features

Players Only Poker offers its players a number of different features in their poker software to help make playing on the site more enjoyable.  Some of these include cash game and tournament filters, stats for the number of players playing on the site, the ability to hide full tables as well as personal control settings which allow you to determine when and for how much you play on the site.

Perhaps the most innovative feature of the Cake Network software is their rewards system which uses your play to assign various rewards to players accounts including both Gold Chips and Gold Cards.  Both of these can be used to enter tournaments and win cash prizes simply by playing for real money on the site and your bonus balances are displayed directly through the poker cashier.  The site runs a number of daily promotions on their software for players to participate in and there is tons of promotions on a daily basis for players.

On the technical side, Players Only provides limited features to players including the ability to change your table view, seating position, deck colour, table background as well as some bankroll related features such as preferred buy-in and auto re-buy features.  Although they’ve provided the basics, we’d like to see a little more emphasis on customizing the table environment while playing.

Overall, Players Only Poker presents a high end poker software package for players that has a number of great features to help you enjoy playing on the site.  While the software is a bit lacking on the technical side, the rewards program more than makes up for missing technicalities and the daily variety of excellent promotions, freerolls and cash bonuses makes Players Only a worthwhile site.
